Wellbeing Update

 

Thank you to our Semester One Wellbeing Representatives

Congratulations to everyone for looking after each other. This helps make our school a great place to be!

 

Some of the ideas that you have all supported and contributed to include;

  • Healthy Lunch Box Competition
  • Collection of class songs to be played
  • Return and sorting of lost property
  • Collection of bread bags and tags for playground equipment
  • Clean Up Excursion to Mordialloc creek Reserve
  • Sorting and tallying of rubbish collected
  • Science composting experiment with the pumpkin
  • Playground reminders

Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD)

Parents/Carers and Guardians, below you will find attached information from the Catholic Education Commission of Victoria (CECV) regarding the annually mandated collection of data on school students with a disability.  Please note while student names are provided to CECV, only de-identified information concerning students with a disability will be passed on to the Department of Education and Training. No action is required from parents/carers or guardians.

The Department of Education and training (DET) developed a range of resources to help support student’s mental health and wellbeing. This current booklet includes age relevant wellbeing activities and conversation starters for parents of school-aged children.

Sustainability 

On the Winter Solstice (shortest day and longest night) in the Southern Hemisphere,  Monday 21st of June several students were asked the following question. 

 

How would you work out the answer to this question: How many days until we dig up the pumpkin?”

 

This are their responses:

  • Ava L 1/2 D “I would look at the date on the board?”
  • Liam W 1/2 E “ I would look at the date on the board and look at my Garmin”
  • Dash  M 1/2 “ I would look at the date and count on”
  • Stephanie D 3/4 Y “ I need to find out what month it is and then the date.”
  • Hugo B 3/4K “Count the months until you get to August then do the days.”
  • Levi R 4K “Count how many months then add the days.”
  • Alice G 5/6F  “ Count from today on.”
  • Luella C E ⅚ ‘Round up then count on.”
  • Lily B 5/6Y “Count how many days are left to the end of the month then in July and August then add these together.”
  • Adrianna M 5/6H “Yesterday was the 20th so today is the 21st so then I would look at counting the months.”
