Family Learning Centre Update
June 2021
HELLO EVERYONE
At Northern Bay College Early Learning Centre we join the whole world to honour refugees as we celebrate the WORLD REFUGEE DAY that falls on the 20 June every year. This day is designated by the United Nations to celebrate the strength and courage of people who have been forced to flee their home country. We spend a week for this occasion to show our empathy and understanding and to recognise their bravery and resilience in rebuilding their lives while away from their home country and living in a foreign land which now they call HOME. We continue to incorporate meaningful activities through our programs to always remind us of our support and love for them.
Here is a little glimpse of how we celebrated
Hello playgroupers and friends
June at the Family Centre has been lovely despite our circumstances. It has been terrific when our children are having play opportunities and families get together - even online.
I look forward to sharing our Term 3 programs with our families.
Community Hubs
activities specifically support migrant and refugee women, pre-school children and their families.
Parents and children enjoy new social supports and friendships, as well as sharing of practical information about health, nutrition and child development and well-being.
Importantly for our multicultural playgroup supports parent and child bilingual language development and provides fun and friendly early learning experiences that promote positive pathways to kindergarten and primary school.
They are free and really helpful to our new Australian families.
