Assistant Principal's Report

The Year 7s have settled in well as they embark on their new journey of learning as secondary school students, as have the Year 11 students as they commence the beginning of their VCE/VCE-VM studies.  I wish you all well as you continue to transition into this exciting new stage of learning.

Year 7 students have undertaken both PAT and On Demand testing to enable staff to develop differentiated programs to meet their individual learning needs.  Some students and families may have been contacted in regards to specialised enhancement and support literacy and numeracy programs that Reservoir High offers our young people depending on where they sit on the learning continua.  These programs include, but are not limited to, the Reading Program and Getting Ready in Numeracy.

NAPLAN, which normally runs in Term 2, has now been moved to Term 1 for all Year 7 and 9 students. The NAPLAN tests will take place from Wednesday 15 March to Monday 27 March.  Students will sit practice NAPLAN tests in the week prior to this to familiarise themselves with the online platform. NAPLAN data, like the testing above, is also used to organise specialised programs for students. I am looking forward to continuing to work with Junior and Senior School to support all students in the learning in 2023.
