What a wonderful start to 2023. We can feel it already, this is going to be one of the best years at GWPS! The past two weeks have been full of exciting events and activities at GWPS. From speech competition to thrilling sport competitions, the students and staff have been busy and having a great time.
First of all, we want to welcome the newest members of the GWPS family, our Preps. No doubt they have already made some great connections and friendships.
Congratulations to all the students who participated in the 'Australian Day' speech competition, especially Jessica from Year 4 for winning the competition. Another highlight thus far has been the commencement of our fabulous innovation programs. Congratulations to everyone who has been selected and big thank you to the teachers for going through all the applications and selection process.
I am also pleased to announce we have started the year with a win in community sports. Congratulations to Vidushi for becoming the current Australian under 12 girls chess champion. In addition some anticipation is building up for the Year 6s as they’re training hard for their first game. Let’s wish them best of luck on behalf of GWPS. Our students have also started their swimming lessons and we have seen some great improvement and fun.
Don’t forget there is a sheet to sign up, if you like to showcase your talents or share something special with the rest of GWPS at our whole school assembly. The sign up sheet is outside the Music Room.
Thanks for reading and i hope you have a great week.
From Amellia – 2023 School Captain.
