Welcome

In this first edition of MY FUTURE Careers News for 2023, I welcome all students back to the College and hope that they had a lovely relaxing break. This year our fortnightly newsletter will bring students many opportunities in the sphere of careers, further education, and resume building skills. I encourage you to subscribe to the newsletter to have it delivered to your inbox.

The year in Careers has started with a bang with our Year 10 students undertaking the Morrisby Profile on their first day back, where they were assessed on aptitudes, interests, and personality to build a personalised career profile. I will be meeting with them one on one throughout Semester One to unpack their profile and assist with subject selection for VCE.

The Year 12 cohort attended an Immersion to the city last week where they visited Australian Catholic University (ACU) for an insight into tertiary study, a tour of the campus, and interactive sessions on Education and Midwifery. They then broke into groups to attend another institution of their choice for the afternoon. Students attended the University of Melbourne for a Science focus tour and lectures on Biology and Chemistry. RMIT was the choice of students with a Business focus. LCI College highlighted courses and careers in the Visual and Digital Arts, and finally students attended William Angliss College where they were introduced to Commercial Kitchens and heard about their offerings in Hospitality, Tourism and Events, whilst baking Macarons. This experience will ensure that students are well informed as they investigate options beyond CLC.

In addition, this edition includes information on
