Beginning of Year Mass

This morning we celebrated our beginning of the year Mass with the theme “Let Your Light Shine”. We all bring light to the world in the way we interact with others. Lent is the perfect time to remind us that we can be the light in someone else's dark day. Share a smile, a kind word, a hug or a hello. It was good to continue our tradition of the Grade 6 buddies blessing their little Prep buddies. These relationships are very special.

Project Compassion

This week a Project Compassion money box came home to each of the eldest in the family. These can be returned to the school or the church at the end of Lent or during early Term 2. You might like to have a conversation with your children about Project Compassion and how we can give to those living in poverty by forgoing a treat for ourselves (eg. icy pole money). Prayer Gathering

Next Friday we begin our usual Prayer Gathering in the church at 9am. For new families, this a student-led prayer time based on current religious learnings, the Catholic Church liturgical calendar or special occasions (eg Mother’s Day). It is a prayer time that may include singing, art works, reflections and various types of prayer. It is a sacred space and reverent time, so we ask that mobile phones be turned off and no food or drink be brought in.

Dan and Susie's class will lead our first Prayer Gathering on Leadership and present the SRC with their badges on March 10th. If you have a child elected to the SRC it might be a nice moment to come and watch them be presented.

Sacramental News

This week the Reconciliation program begins. If you wish for your Grade 2 or 5 student to participate and have not yet collected a pack or registered their name, please call Mandy at the Parish office between 9am and 12pm on 52312177
