Diocesan Swimming Carnival
Last Friday St Mary's sent a team of swimmers down to Tamworth to compete in the Diocesan Swimming Carnival.
What a day! Our first major carnival for the year was held at Scully Park Pool on Friday 26th February, 2021. Our Catholic Primary Schools from around the Diocese gathered for a day of competitive swimming. Just under 300 swimmers participated in the carnival, all children doing their best, encouraging others and displaying exceptional sportsmanship.
All of our swimmers were great representatives for the school and it was exciting to start 2021's representative sport off with a great day in Tamworth. Thank you to parents for driving your children to Tamworth and especially to those who helped with timekeeping on the day.
Two of the highlights of the day were:
- Kieren Stuart swam fantastically all day and was announced as the Junior Boys Runner Up Champion.
- Sasha Scott-Hamilton qualifying for Polding in 50m breaststroke.
Kieren and Sasha both qualified to represent the Diocese at the Polding carnival in Sydney. Good luck!
