2021 Instrumental Tuition
Please ensure enrolment forms for instrumental and speech and drama lessons have been submitted to the performing arts office. Tutors will contact parents directly to confirm lesson commencement and will then speak with individual classroom teachers to find the most appropriate time for the lesson to take place.
Year 1 Strings
Our string program will commence in Week 3. As in previous years, small groups of children will take part in an 8 week ‘taster’ program throughout the year. The lessons take place during 1-2 Choir time on Monday afternoons. Students involved in the first session will be notified this week and letters will be emailed home to parents with more details about the program.
Sydney Youth Orchestra Experience
In mid-January when many of us were enjoying our summer holidays, one of our Year 6 students, Keeley O’Toole was hard at work, performing in the Sydney Youth Orchestra workshops. During her week in Sydney Keeley worked with other young musicians under the expertise of several of Australia’s top conductors, including Sada Muramatsu. Not only did Keeley earn the opportunity to meet and perform with many fine young musicians from around the state, but she also performed in the Verbrugghen Hall at the NSW Conservatorium of Music, a big thrill for a young musician. Keeley’s teacher Mrs Moxey is very proud of Keeley’s achievements in taking part in this workshop and particularly for being selected to sit on the front desk of the ensemble she played with, a clear indication of the quality of her playing. We congratulate Keeley on this wonderful achievement.
