Reconciliation Week

National Reconciliation Week is held each year from 27 May to 3 June and is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia. The theme  encourages all Australians to be a voice for reconciliation in tangible ways in our everyday lives.

Students worked together to learn about how they can make a difference and contribute to reconciliation and how their voice can be heard. Each student completed a hand which forms part of a display in the office, showing how everyone at Para Vista PS can work together towards reconciliation.

Working Bee 

Last Saturday, we held a working bee where we worked on cleaning up areas of the preschool garden, clearing paths and pulling out weeds in the indigenous garden and repairing and replanting some of the raised garden beds. We were extremely lucky to have great weather which allowed us to get lots done. A huge thank you to the following students, staff and families for attending and helping improve our outdoor spaces.

Andrew, Isabella & Bianca, Leanne & Fletcher, Samantha & Riley, Kelly, Isla & Sadie, Angela, Michelle, Caitlyn (& Ryan), Lauren, Belinda (Lucas & Hudson), Anne, Ben (& Fletcher) and our Asset Committe and Environmental Leaders for helping with the planning.

We would also like to thank Bunnings Modbury for donating some seedlings which were planted in our raised beds. Look out for more information next term regarding our next working bee. We hope more of our families can help us out then.
