*DONATIONS INVITED*  BHCS BUILDING FUND

With the refurbishment of our old Primary School underway and plans for further development in the senior area, we would like to invite parents and friends of Belgrave Heights Christian School, to make a donation to the BHCS Building Fund. A building fund donation provides the opportunity to contribute to the School in a very practical and permanent way which will provide learning opportunities to current and future students who will gain the benefits of the amazing new facilities.

With the end of the financial year approaching, this would be a perfect time to make a contribution – no amount is too small.

Anyone wishing to make a donation can do so by making a payment at reception (cash or credit card) or by bank transfer to the School’s Building Fund account as follows:-

Belgrave Heights Christian School Building Fund

BSB 633-000

Account No. 137 265 468

Donations of $2 or more to the Building Fund are tax deductible. If you would like a receipt for tax purposes, please ensure that you provide us with your full name, address &/or email address. If you have any queries, please contact Liz or Daniel in the Finance Office at accounts@bhcs.vic.edu.au

DISCOVERY CENTRE INVITATION

Primary Parents & Carers are welcome to join us 11.00am on Wednesday, 24 May in the Discovery Centre as we read "The Speedy Sloth" for National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS).

The NSS is held annually by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA). Every year a picture book, written and illustrated by an Australian author and illustrator, is read simultaneously in libraries, schools, pre-schools, childcare centres, family homes, bookshops and many other places around the country. Now in its 23rd successful year, it is a colourful, vibrant, fun event that aims to promote the value of reading and literacy, using an Australian children's book that explores age-appropriate themes, and addresses key learning areas of the National Curriculum for Foundation to Year 6.

VICTORIAN PREMIERS READING CHALLENGE

The Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge is now open and BHCS is excited to be participating!

We are running the challenge because we think reading is great and in recognition of the importance of reading for literacy development.

The Premiers’ Reading Challenge is not a competition; but a personal challenge for children to read a set number of books by 8 September 2023.
