Sports Report

It’s getting chilly out there but our teams are on fire!

State Tennis Finals (Year 9 &10 Girls)

Congratulations to our Intermediate Girls tennis team (Maisy Byrne, Georgia Mahoney, Lila Mahoney, Evie Ritchie and Abbey Stobaus) on winning their games at the State Finals to progress to the Semi Finals against Macrobertson Girls High School at Dendy Park in Melbourne last week!

All team members gave it their all against Lavalla Catholic College, Maribyrnong College and Balwyn High School to achieve 3rd in the State in the Intermediate Girls division!

The team adapted to the conditions and the clay courts and relished the opportunity to be one of the few teams from outside of metropolitan Melbourne. We are beyond proud of how they competed, demonstrated excellent sportsmanship and never gave up!

This is an outstanding achievement and we hope the team enjoyed competing at this level of competition. A very special thank you to the parents and family members who travelled to support the team.

LMR Soccer Tournament (Year 11/12 Boys, Year 11/12 Girls & Year 9/10 Boys)

Our Year 9 &10 boys team won one game and demonstrated commitment and determination against the very strong teams from Bendigo and Mildura.

The Year 11 & 12 boys team, despite their athleticism and stamina, lost all games as they were outplayed by the students of Bendigo Senior, most of whom play in the Bendigo League.

Our Senior Girls Soccer team are competing in Bendigo today (Thursday 1 June) and we wish them all the best.

Thank you to the staff for coaching our teams - Mr Andrea Romano, Mr Regis Chakabva, Ms Clare Orton and Miss Alyssa Clark.

Loddon Mallee Region (Senior Boys & Girls AFL)

The long road to Mildura sure didn’t stop our Year 11&12 boys in their winning streak!

With four matches to play on the day, the Senior boys showed persistence, determination and eagerness to bring home the win.

Congratulations to the team on progressing to the State Quarter Finals & Semi Finals to be played in Ballarat on Tuesday 15 August. Special thanks to Mr Justin Cantwell, Mr Kristian McNicol and to the parents who supported the team on the day.

Well done to the Senior Girls AFL team who played a strong Marist College in Elmore last Wednesday. The girls started off strong with goals scored by Bree Church, Alicia Callander, Stella White and Kaitlyn Davidson, however were defeated 9.7. 61 - 4. 4. 28.

Best players on the day were Raina Fimmel, Sienna Johnstone, Matilda Cooke, Bree Church and Kaitlyn Davidson. Thank you to our coach, Ms Jacquie James and Ms Alyssa Clark for boundary umpiring.
