During term 1 the year 7 and 8 students participated in a Weekly Interschool Sport Program against other schools in our division pool. These included, Parkdale, Brighton, Bentleigh and McKinnon. They proved to be great opponents and gave us some great matches across 3 different sports.
Our Baseball and Tennis teams fought well, gaining great points throughout all of their matches. Despite our efforts the other schools were victorious, however students should be proud in our efforts to learn new sports and compete at such a competitive level.
Our volleyball teams had more success on the scoreboard this term. Both the year 7 & 8 teams gained 2 victories but fell just short of winning the third. Unfortunately this means we narrowly miss out on finals.

The senior volleyball tournament started with excitement and nervousness, but ended in tension and celebration. Both boys and girls’ teams from all Secondary College competed against schools around the South-East region; Bentleigh, Sandringham, Parkdale and Mordialloc. All schools were great competitors on the day, however it ended with the Westall boys team versus. Mordialloc for regionals. Westall were victorious and made it to regionals! The girls A team were close in their tournaments against the other schools, however, they missed by a few points to make it to regionals. Great job girls!
Overall the day was filled with initiative, teamwork, laughter from all students and overall, everyone had a great time.

Earlier this term, four of our Year 10 girls competed in the Intermediate Round Robin in tennis. The girls played some tough matches and showed great improvement in their tennis skills. They finished equal second overall which is a great result!

Our year 9 and 10 teams had their opportunity to compete as they took part in the term one Intermediate Round Robin day. We entered Volleyball, Tennis, and Baseball teams who all competed gallantly. The day was successful as our girls Volleyball team came out on top closely followed by our boys volleyball team who were pipped at the final hurdle finishing second overall. Our girls team will now compete in the Southern Metro Regional finals in May.
