Super District XC Team efforts

We’d like to congratulate our team of 80 Cross Country students that represented St. Finbar’s at last Friday’s Dendy District Cross Country carnival.  The course terrain was certainly a little more challenging than our St. Finbar’s XC, but all put in 100% and gave it their best.

We’d like to say a big thank you to our very helpful parent; Sabine L. for coming along to help the team over the morning as well as help out as a course marshall.  

Overall St Joan of Arc gained the most points with their race placings and were presented with the Michelle Barclay Memorial Outright Winning School Perpetual Shield.  St. Finbar’s came an impressive 4th overall, with 6 students finishing in the top 8 of their age group race.  These six will now compete at the Beachside Division Cross Country event on May 30th.  We congratulate all our runners efforts and wish our 6 Division reps all the best for their continued training and next race:

Charlie P (4A): 2nd place: 9/10 Boys 2km

Max A (4M): 4th place: 9/10 Boys 2km

Angus H (5T): 1st place: 11 Boys 3km

Dane G (5H): 6th place: 11 Boys 3km

Charlotte C (5T): 2nd place: 11 Girls 3km

Evie G (5T): 3rd place: 11 Girls 3km

HOME GAMES:  St Finbar’s 2  vs Sacred Heart Sandringham:

Football:   Hurlingham Oval #1 (larger oval), Nepean Hwy, Brighton East. (Mr. Tyndall)

Netball:  St. Finbar’s school courts.  (Mrs Howell).

Footballers to be picked up by Sacred Heart bus at 12.30pm, return to school by 3.00pm. 

AWAY GAMES:  St. Patrick’s Murrumbeena vs  St. Finbar’s 1: 

Football: Packer Park, 120 Leila Rd, Carnegie.  (Miss Happell)   

Netball: St. Patrick’s PS school netball courts, 3 Dalny Rd, Murrumbeena.  (Miss Kay this week)

To depart at 12.30pm by bus. Return by 3.15pm
