Year 12 Applied Learning

Year 12 Applied Learning students Drea Carson and Mylo Faisst are also spending Wednesdays at GoTafe in Shepparton. They are second year Certificate II in Kitchen Operations students who are learning a lot of kitchen skills. Currently they are learning to serve customers in a busy kitchen environment and prepare complex meals. This is something that the rest of the college doesn’t see and it is also a great experience for students to undertake. 

This year students were provided with personal knife sets to be used in the kitchen. These are professional knife sets used both individually and in a team environment. When they complete their studies in Kitchen Operations and the Year 12 Certificate of Applied Learning, further opportunities are available in the hospitality industry, eg: Apprentice Chef, kitchen hand, front or back of house and waiting.
