From the Principal

We are finishing Term 1 and are excited to share a newsletter edition highlighting the breadth of learning and educational events that have been happening at our school.

We would like to express our gratitude to the students, school council, and parents who attended the 2022 Annual Report to the School Community. It was a fantastic opportunity to hear from one of our 2023 School Captains, Minnie, and celebrate the successes of 2022. We are particularly proud of the school's Thrive fund, and the committee continues to explore ways in which we can support families in our community. The report will be published on our website after being endorsed by the Department of Education (DE).

We are pleased to announce the representatives for School Council in 2023, including Parent Representatives: Liza Grage-Perry (School Council President), Stefan Gruenert (School Council Vice President), Clive Madder (School Council Treasurer), Chris Price, Ian Rogers, and Robyn Schofield

Staff Representatives: Chris Jones, Elliot Wall, Karen Burgess, Peta Sirec, and Richard Smallcombe

Student Representatives: Adam Hamo and Mona Kuwahara Quach

Community Representatives: Gaby Chapman, James Thyer, and Andrew Tierney (Governance Chair).

Last week we finished the Fieldwork days scheduled for our School Review. Over the last 3 weeks we have run student forums; school walkthroughs; classroom observations; and met with key leaders of the school, including the Heads of School, Faculty Heads, members of our Education Support team and student groups. A big thanks to the parents that attended our parent review session for giving up time in their evenings to assist our School Reviewer. The input across the school community has been essential in helping us with our goal setting for the next Strategic Plan.

Our Parent Student Teacher Conversations (PTSCs) are a vital opportunity for staff, students, and families to strengthen the learning partnerships between school and home. This term, we ran two modes of interviews to ensure maximum participation from families took place over our two days of PTSCs. We are grateful to our staff for their hard work in preparing for these conversations, and we hope they were helpful in discussing learning goals for next term.

Before the colder weather arrives, we urge our students to take a break from their studies and enjoy the outdoors during the holidays. For those celebrating Easter as a religious event, we wish you and your community a joyous celebration.

Finally, we wish everyone a safe, restful, and happy break.
