Supporting Community Partnerships

This edition we are putting a spotlight on our Parent and Carer Communication Guidelines.

Underpinning these guidelines are the Northcote High School Values of:

Achievement | Humanity | Curiosity | Fairness

This policy has some great guidance on support around the different ways you can communicate with school and also information on how you receive information including:

  • Reporting student absences
  • Using compass for events
  • General school inquiries - how to contact by phone and email
  • How to contact staff members through Compass

Alongside these methods is supporting information on email guidelines for parent communications to the school.

A reminder around appointments and expected response times:

  • If you would like a meeting with someone at the school, please contact them to make an appointment. If you arrive to school without an appointment, you will not be able to meet with a staff member and asked to make an appointment.
  • Families should receive a response to communication within 48 hours, unless it is a complex matter which make take up to a week. In the case of a complex matter, you should still receive communication to acknowledge your contact. Please understand, our staff are not expected to respond to communication outside of school hours.

These Communication Guidelines and other relevant documentation can be found on Compass under the Community tab in School Documentation. https://nhs-vic.compass.education/Communicate/SchoolDocumentation.aspx
