Foundation Art: Sweet!

After looking at some delicious cake artworks by artists such as Andy Warhol and Wayne Thiebaud and Melbourne artist Alice Oehr, we were inspired to create tall layer cakes in Art. Instead of using paint brushes, the Foundation students used plastic pieces to scrape blobs of colourful paint across their paper to make layers. Very satisfying and pretty. After illustrating lovely cake stands, decorations were added using recycled paper shapes and stickers. Icing patterns were added using squeezy bottles of paint. Delicious!
