STEM Update

As telling stories using those things called 'words' is so, Term 1, for the start of this term, our Junior students were tasked to tell a story using code.

Using Scratch on the iPad, students used block code to create interactive stories.

We had stories about dragons, gardens, fairies, astronauts, speeding cars and.... farts, yep, it would seem that it is a universal norm that when you show a young person how to record and code audio digitally, the first thing they do is a fart sound (or burp, we had those too)

Yes, I know, I am creating the future leaders of tomorrow...

Daniel R's (Grade3/4 BM) Coding Club

Daniel is a superstar coder and has spent a lot of time the past few weeks planning to run a coding club at lunchtime for the Macedon PS students.

He is running everything by himself; planning the classes, running live demonstrations and helping students one-on-one.

It was a pleasure to see him in action today (and slightly depressing seeing all the students listen to him without question... I think I could learn and thing or two!)

You can see the future Principal of Macedon Primary working his magic in the picture below.

Thanks,
