Year 9 Sculpture

Feathered Gull with plastic by Aleyna A

Marine life and environmental pollution

Over the past two weeks the students have increased their skill level in our Sculpture class, moving on to creating seagulls with paper feathers using glue and making seahorses using a cut and notch method. They will use these techniques in their final sculpture of an ocean creature of their own choice.

Continuing to make use of recycled materials, the students have started to add context to their sculptures, depicting them with plastic rubbish to represent their marine life trapped and surrounded by the Great Pacific Plastic Garbage Patch.
