What Happened?

Year 9 and 10 Digital Photography and the Story Teller students have taken full advantage of their current situation and in the use of the immediate space around them, to create a set of images based around the work of the brilliant photographer Gergory Crewdson.

Gregory Crewdson is an American photographer best known for staging cinematic scenes of suburbia to dramatic effect. His surreal images are often melancholic, offering ambiguous narrative suggestions and blurring the boundaries between fiction and reality.

Where access to different spaces at school can be difficult at times, students have been able to reap the benefits of developing work in their home environment to create photographs based around the theme. The photography students were given the task of taking a set of photos using controlled dramatic lighting techniques and considered spatial relations to encourage you the viewer to ask the question, ‘What happened?’
