Remote Learning time:

We have hit the ground running in our remote learning 2.0! We are becoming Zoom and Seesaw professionals and learning lots about animals, mapping, how to make paper planes and information reports.

Maths:

In Maths, we have started learning about mapping and location. We have had lots of fun getting hands-on and demonstrating our understanding of location by making treasure maps, playing fun mapping games on Seesaw and using our teddies to show our understanding of location and direction.

Writing:

In Writing, we have been learning about how to write an information report. We have learnt that you need to include headings, subheadings, illustrations, pictures, diagrams, dates and interesting facts. We are becoming knowledgeable reporters. Here are some examples of our reports about animals.

Purposeful Play:

On Fridays, we love to get creative and imaginative through our purposeful playtime. We demonstrate our open-minded and reflective skills by engaging in a range of play-based experiences. We have recreated the story of Noah’s Ark using lego and we have also made animal sanctuaries using our toys and lego. We have been showcasing on Seesaw the wonderful skills we are learning and developing at home.

STEAM:

We have been getting busy with our hands and making cool things in STEAM such as paper planes. During the activity, we learnt how to make the paper plane catapult by using an elastic band. It took patience, persistence and dedication but we managed to catapult our paper plane. We had to be reflective, open-minded and creative thinkers when designing our planes. Here are some photos of us showcasing our cool paper planes that we made.

Unit of inquiry:

In our unit of inquiry, we have been very busy taking care of our very own plants. We are so excited to show our plants some tender, love and care and we can’t wait to see how they are going to turn out. This fun activity at home has been a great introduction to our unit of inquiry. We have been learning about what makes a thing living, the difference between living and non-living things and the important relationship between all living things. Through this unit of inquiry, we are becoming knowledgeable inquirers.
