Show us your Sustainability!

This week, we'd love to see how each family is doing their bit for the environment while at home!

Are you growing your own herbs or veggies?

Are you composting?

Got any tips to share?

We invite you to upload a photo or two into your child/ren's Sustainability folder on Seesaw. Our aim is to collate them all into a short movie :)  We are really looking forward to your responses!

In the meantime, here is a great little article about being sustainable while at home:

CareMonkey is rebranding to ‘Operoo’

Dear Parents,

This is a quick note to inform you that St Columba’s digital forms and school operations platform provider, CareMonkey, will be rebranding as ‘Operoo’: School processes, without the paperwork

Operoo’s mission is to help schools eliminate operational inefficiencies so that every dollar and every minute possible can be spent on a students’ education.

The name change will occur the week beginning Monday August 10th. How you use the service, as well as the ownership and operation of the company, will remain unchanged.

You can continue using the system, and its mobile application, as usual. Just be aware that, after Monday August 10th, emails and notifications sent from the system will start appearing under the new name ‘Operoo’. You will also be automatically diverted to the new Operoo website if you go to the old CareMonkey website.

We look forward to continuing to digitise, streamline and automate St Columba’s operations with Operoo.

Best regards,

St Columba's Office

Thank you to our essential workers

Dear students and families,

We are again asking for your help in supporting our essential workers. During the first period of the Coronavirus spread, our essential workers were celebrated and thanked in many ways. We would like to continue this during this second period as many of our essential workers are struggling this time around.

To participate please create a thank you poster, card, letter, message that can be sent to local essential workers. We ask that the pieces are decorated and nicely presented.

Please ensure that you/your child does not include identifying details in their piece (e.g. surname, address).

There are a few ways your cards/messages can be shared with us. You can take a clear photo of the card or scan the card and email it directly to myself: bdobric@scelwood.catholic.edu.au . Alternatively, your child can post the image to Seesaw where I can access it and prepare it for delivery to the appropriate people.

We are especially interested in receiving cards for essential workers in the following categories:

  1. Aged care workers
  2. Police
  3. Hospital workers
  4. Fr John
  5. Early Learning Centre staff
  6. Sacred Heart Food hall staff
  7. Supermarket/Chemist workers

Thank you for your help in spreading joy.

Brooke
