Middle Years

Middle Years Village Leaders: Workshop for Semester 2
The Middle Years Village Leaders were all part of a lively workshop that took place on Wednesday morning of the first week back at school this term. Personally, it was an incredible thing to be a part of as it not only gave us the idea of the pleasant time we were going to have with our Middle Years Village members this term, but also gave us the gratifying feeling of the position we are in as leaders. We engaged in many activities throughout the process of the workshop, such as coming up with a handshake that is designated symbolically for each of our Villages; getting to decide what activities our fellow Middle Years students will be doing with us; exchanging our views on certain issues we will be grappling with this term; talking about Village representation and plenty more. Most importantly, we all learnt the essential meaning of Pastoral Care and that the time we spend with our Villages is for us to grow and develop as people. Playing a role and assisting in this is something that feels truly wonderful. Moreover, this workshop gave us all a chance to work together and collectively work through the current paths of our individual Villages. The workshop’s purpose was for us to develop our leadership while simultaneously aiding in the flow of Care Group time, and to interact as Village Leaders and learn something new.
