It has been great to re-open the VCE kitchen and see the excitement of both our Year 12s (one student was seen dancing in the corridor when she saw us preparing it to open) and the embracing of this new privilege by our Year 11s.
This area is a great resource for all and needs to be kept clean, with COVID protocols and normal hygiene followed. So far so good!
Students recently made a delicious Frittata with Ms Stavrou.
Thanks to all of those students who provided us with their phone numbers over the last few weeks. A reminder, that this number is confidential and will only be used in emergencies by VCE Coordinators.
Students who have not yet given us this number, please do so.
A spot prize of a red sports car was given to a random student who completed this form on time. Well done to Emma Pullen!
It is important that if you miss a SAC for illness, you obtain a doctor’s certificate. The exception to this is, if you are sick or isolating due to COVID, you will need to contact the school and also log your illness through the government website.
Please make sure that you are preparing to do your SAC as close as possible to your return date (depending on how unwell you are).
Pop in to the VCE Office to organise this when you return.
With resits, you will need to talk to your teacher to arrange the date and content required.
For students who have started driving to school, it is important that you come in and log your details in the VCE Office so that we have a record of the students driving and whose cars are going to be in the carpark.
Recently, VCE students have been given the opportunity to improve their study skills and exam preparation through a number of sessions run by Elevate Education. Feedback on the Year 12 Exam preparation and the Year 11 Study Skills session, has been overwhelmingly positive and we urge our students to continue to refer to their notes and use the strategies they worked on.
Students across the school have also been working on mindfulness activities twice weekly in Home Group. It has been great to see students having a go at using the breathing techniques and gratitude prompts to promote wellbeing in these sessions.
Keep up the practice outside of class!
After numerous interruptions dating back to last year, our Year 12s finally got to celebrate their Presentation Ball on, Sunday 20 March at Crown, Palladium. It was an amazing night and we congratulate all students who participated.
This year’s Presentation Ball for Year 11 students will be held on, Sunday 19 June at Crown, Palladium.
For all queries regarding the ball, please see Ms Devine in the PAC Office.
Market Day was once again a resounding success this year! Students from the Unit 1/2 Business Studies class embraced the opportunity to run a small business and almost every student and teacher visited and purchased an amazing variety of delicious products! Well done to all students and staff involved.
It’s great to read some of the positive messages our students are putting on the Gratitude Board.
If students haven’t already added to it, they can drop by the Senior School Office to grab the markers and put their positive messages up on the board.
It is fantastic for our wellbeing to recognise and acknowledge the things that make us happy in our lives.
Mr Bourne with our Year 12s wearing their FUNKY SOCKS!
Every Friday, Year 12 students are invited to wear FUNKY SOCKS for a gold coin donation to raise money for charities.
