It’s been a busy few weeks at Lilydale High School and for the SRC. Look what's been happening.....
On Tuesday 8 March, the school cohort came together to celebrate International Women’s Day and acknowledge the achievements of the girls and women we know and appreciate.
All students were invited to wear a ‘splash’ of green, white or purple, to show support for the day.
At lunchtime, sweet treats like cupcakes, rocky road slice and brownies (specially made by some lovely SRC volunteers) were sold at the Middle School Quadrangle; all the funds raised being donated to a charity that provides assistance to women in need of care and support.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the day, whether it was indulging in a treat, wearing a little bit of colour in their uniform, or volunteering to help make the day run smoothly!
Throughout the month of March, students and teachers have been raising funds for 'The Water Challenge', a fundraiser where participants are only allowed to choose WATER as a beverage for the duration of the month. with the goal of raising FUNDS for those who do not have access to a clean source of water in their home.
The donations go directly to the non-for-profit WaterAid, which aims to provide clean, safe water and sanitation to those in need, and make a positive impact on their lives.
If you would like to donate, please visit our fundraising site:
This Friday, the last day of Term 1, LHS students will be taking part in our own Clean Up Australia Day.
We invite all students who are interested in helping keep our school grounds and local environment rubbish-free, and taking a step in keeping our planet happy and healthy, to come and participate.
