Year 7 Science

Year 7 students have been learning about the 3 states of matter and were experimenting with having ice, water and condensation all at the same time in a test tube.

Year 7 students in Mrs Kaltmann's class this week were continuing to learn about how matter interacts and the kinetic theory of matter.

The students learnt about diffusion, how substances diffuse quicker when hot. Students made tea in hot water and cold water and watched and described the diffusion process.

Year 7s also learned how to make solid liquid and gas models.

Year 9 Science

Year 9 students have begun learning the unit of Electricity. They have been studying electrostatics and found that they could make water bend and have their hair stand up on end when they touched the van De Graaff generator.

Mrs. Kaltmann has shown 9D how to use the van De Graaff generator and teaching them about electric circuits.
