Student-led Conferences

Student-led Conferences

We are looking forward to hosting Student-led Conferences next week on Tuesday April 5 and 6.

Please take the time to read your child's report prior to the Student-led Conference and note down any questions you have about your child's learning achievements and areas for focus in Term Two. Classroom teachers will also be able to discuss strategies for support and engagement in learning at home where necessary.

Your child will also play a very important role within the conference. All students across the school are currently preparing a reflection on their term of learning to share with attending family members during this special meeting.

We hope that you find the new report format helpful and informative and we look forward to strengthening our partnerships with our families next week at the Student-led Conferences.

During the holidays...

We all need a break from school routines and structures during the holiday period, to rest and recharge for another focused term of learning. However, as a school we strongly encourage a reading routine to continue wherever possible for your child. Please continue to build that enjoyment of reading in your family by reading to and with your child. Listening to your child read, and discussing their reading through conversations with them, regularly supports the development of their comprehension, fluency and accuracy - not to mention their overall capabilities and confidence as a reader! Classroom teachers will be sending home reading material with students to support their reading routines through the holidays. Libraries are also a great source, and an enjoyable outing during the holidays. If you are heading away on a trip, the opportunities are endless for reading signs, pamphlets, menus, newspapers, information plaques, booklets...and the list goes on!
