Principal's Report

Social Media challenges...

eSafety

Social Media provides challenges in every home.  Many issues stemming from home social media interactions and chat groups or alike, play out at school.

Together, we can support our children/students to enjoy success on the various platforms they access.

There are age restrictions for a reason with the various social media applications.  As such, the social maturity of students in primary schooling years, isn't such that they can deal with the array of connotations that arise in social media forums.

So too, the varying levels of support children receive in their homes is enormous.

We thank those parents / carers who manage and support children at home and hope all of you can set safe environments for your child/ren to succeed.

Please understand I am not able to 'fix' bullying or unsafe practices at school, when it occurs at home.  We will however, continue to support and educate students with 'good' decision making.

The following link is a wonderful resource to support both parent and child - please utilise this to support success in your home.  https://www.esafety.gov.au/

Students on grounds before & after school (re-run) thank you for your support...

Please be reminded, students are not to enter our school grounds prior to 8:45am.  They are unsupervised and therefore unsafe.  We have Before School Care, for families who are unable to complete drop off after 8:45am.  Students enter and remain in their classrooms between their 8:45-9:00am arrival time to complete a readiness for learning period.

Students must also exit the school grounds at 3:20pm.  Parents / carers wishing to provide additional playground time to their child/ren, must remain with them to do so and you are most welcome.  Students who are not being supervised will be asked to make their way home.

2022 ANZAC Day

ANZAC Day this year falls on a Monday, being the day prior to term two beginning.

On our first day back of term two, Tuesday 26 April, we will hold our own school commemoration ceremony, led by our Year 5/6 students.

This is a significant day in our calendar and our curriculum.  Each year our year 5/6 students present a wonderful and fitting service for our school and broader community to enjoy.

This year, the service will be held at 11:30am at our local cenotaph.  The later start is due to it being the first day of term and the requirement for students to re-engage and practice.

I hope you can all place this significant event in your diaries and attend to cherish this great occasion with our students.

Student Interim Reports

I hope you all enjoy reading your child's achievements contained within their Interim Report, this Friday.

Student led conference booking (see below attachment for booking details) is available from today for either Tuesday 5th or Wednesday 6th April, between 3:40-7:00pm.

It is highly recommended, all families engage in the student led conferences.

Final Day of Term One

Next Friday, 8 April is the final day of term one.

Student dismissal is at 2:30pm.

Our first day of term two is Tuesday 26 April.
