Foundation News

Congratulations!

Congratulations to all of our Foundation children on such a successful first term of school. We are so proud of how well each of you have settled in and how much you have achieved already. We are so excited to watch you all continue to grow next term.

Next Term...

Werribee Zoo Excursion

Next term, our focus in Integrated Studies is Living Things. Throughout the term, children will investigate the basic needs for survival of animals, including humans, and how their senses help them stay alive.

To support this unit of work, Foundation children will have the opportunity to attend an excursion to the Werribee Zoo. This program promotes learning through exploration, self-managed risk, discovery and observation. Students will uncover how living things grow, change and survive in nature. While at the zoo, students will explore Habitat Haven using their senses and open-ended play-based activities.

We will also view the 'Crazy About Cats' zookeeper talk and go on a safari bus tour. The tour includes live commentary from a Safari Guide as we move through the grasslands of Asia, North America and Africa, spotting bison, antelope, rhino, zebra and ostrich.

This will be our major excursion for the year and will take place on Tuesday 10th May 2022. A permission form was sent home last week. Please ensure payment is made and permission form is returned by Friday 29th April 2022.

Please contact your classroom teacher if you have any questions.

Enjoy a well deserved break everyone!
