ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING
You can ask your child open-ended probability questions such as
- If two coins are tossed, what could happen?
- I overheard my mum telling our neighbour that on the weekend we would definitely do something but I could not hear what it was. What might it be?
- I heard the teacher say 'It is... that all of the children in this class will watch television tonight' but I didn't hear one of the words. What might the missing word be? What is something that is more likely to happen than what the teacher is talking about?
- Two children were playing a dice game. One child tossed two dice together and when they landed one was a 6 and one was a 4. What other number combinations might the child have tossed?
- Someone asked the teacher a question and he replied 'Maybe. What might the question be?
