Spectacular 2023

We had our first rehearsal at Ivanhoe East PS last Tuesday! What a brilliant time we all spent learning most of the six songs out of 8!

Well done to our 16 Mass Dancers who represented our school so well. We arrived just before 10 am and finished at 2:30 pm. We didn't come back to school until about 3:15 pm. It was a massive day but an inspiring start, with a positive impact and impression shown! Check us out, breaking some moves and sweat!

Performing Arts' lessons have been focusing hugely on the Cultural week at the end of term, Las ferias de abril (Spain).

F/1s have been focusing on the values and how to demonstrate these in different areas of the school, e.g. 'Care in the playground.' They have been role-playing different values in other areas of the school and presenting these to the class.

2/3s have been learning a Flamenco rumba choreography, which they will perform on Spanish Cultural Fiesta. Learning how to move our muñecas (wrists) and zapateo 'stamping our feet' in flamenco dancing, showing creativity and having a lot of fun! Check out our photos below. 2/3s have also been learning about mime using Charlie Chaplin movies as examples. They have planned their own 'mime movies', including humour. These will be uploaded onto Seesaw from next week onwards.

4/5/6 have continued and mostly finished planning their 'health and hygiene' adverts for schools. They gave and received constructive feedback on their adverts last week. This week they have used the feedback to improve their adverts and plans. They will be ready to film from next week. These will be uploaded onto Seesaw.
