2023 NSW Premier's Reading Challenge

Last week, the 2023 NSW Premier's Reading Challenge opened. Students at NCS have been taking part in this challenge for the past 6 years and each year more students complete the challenge than the year before. Students are required to read a set number of books for their year level primarily by Australian authors.

Last year, we had many students who received a Gold certificate which is awarded to students who have completed the challenge for the fourth time. These students were awarded this special certificate at our Primary assembly. Congratulations to all our award winners.

The students who received Gold certificates in 2022 were; Nate B, Chloe B, Liam C,

Bethany D, Heidi E, Patrick F, Addi G, Ena G, Surjo G, Lachlan H, Darcy H, Penny J,

Joseph L, Ava M, Myah-Jane N, Shakaya N, Matilda P, Amity P, Bronson T, Rylan T,

James B, Alex W and Amaya W.

Every student in K-2 participates in the Premiers Reading Challenge as part of their class and library reading program. Students in Years 3-6 are required to keep their own reading record of books they have read before the closing date in Book Week, August 18. The students enter these book titles during their weekly library class time.
