Our annual bookmark design competition is running this term – the deadline for entries is Friday 31st March – we can’t wait to see your ideas for the library bookmarks of 2023.

We will also be running our Golden Ticket competition for the rest of this term.

Golden tickets are hidden in books around the library – students who find a ticket are invited to write a book review on the library website in return for a mini bar of chocolate. Happy hunting!

Premiers' Reading Challenge is Live

The 2023 challenge has launched, and we’d love to see as many of you as possible getting on board. All students who sign up and log their first book will be awarded a house point! If you complete the challenge, you’ll get another. We will also be recognising your efforts each week with points and prizes for the VBC Reader of the Week.

PRC asks you to read 15 books by September. We encourage you to make the challenge your own and set a goal that works for you – or come and see our display for some ideas for fun mini-challenges. It's a fantastic way to get motivated, and studies show that more reading leads to better performance across ALL subject areas. It also:

Improves memory and concentration
Increases empathy
Expands your vocabulary
