YEAR 3 - 6 News

Year 3/4A

Over the last week we have created school-wide positive behaviour charts to display in our classroom. We discussed how we can demonstrate these behaviours in the classroom and the playground. During last week's assembly we presented our posters and spoke to the school about why it is important to follow these expectations.

Year 4/5A

Student Award Wall

As a class we decided that we should celebrate our awards and continue to encourage positive behaviour and determination with our work. An idea that we had was to create a ‘Student Award’ wall, where we can recognise and celebrate our weekly award winners. These students have shown the school values and had a shining week at some point this term. Congratulations!

Introduction to Persuasive Writing

During writing this week we have been working on ‘How to write an engaging introduction.’ A specific focus was introductions to Persuasive and Narrative texts. Including key ideas, expanding on ideas, and sizzling starts. Here are some examples of introductions to persuasive writing tasks.

Year 3-6

Melbourne Football Club visited years 3-6 to run a football clinic and a Q&A session. We were very lucky to have Christian Petracca, Bailey Fritsch, Alex Neal-Bullen, Joel Smith and Jake Bowey attend. During the clinic we played a handball game and competed in a marking challenge. The footballers spoke about the lifestyle choices they have to make to perform as professional athletes at the highest level. Go Dees!
