The Breakfast Club

A hearty thank you!

BREAKFAST is often referred to as the most important meal of the day, and for good reason. It provides the body and brain with the necessary fuel and nutrients to start the day off right.  So with this in mind, it has been great to see that the St Norbert College Breakfast Club has been a resounding success this term with many students utilising the service each morning.

Breakfast is especially important for teenagers as they undergo physical and emotional changes, and need proper nutrition to support their growth and development. Having a healthy breakfast improves energy levels, mood, well-being and overall health.

Students who come to school without having breakfast should not be disadvantaged and the Breakfast Club at St Norbert College provides the opportunity for students to have a nutritious breakfast each day so they can maintain focus and be more engaged in activities in and out of the classroom. Setting healthy breakfast habits now can set the foundation for a healthy lifestyle in the future.

Thanks to Foodbank and the College, our students have been fuelling up on fresh fruit, toast and even spaghetti toasties!

I would like to thank staff and our Year 9 Service Learning students who volunteer their time each morning to give back to the school by assisting in the running of Breakfast Club it is very much appreciated and I look forward to the continued success of Breakfast Club over the course of the year.
