Attendance

Every day counts

Dear Families,

We hope this letter finds you and your family healthy and safe. We want to take a moment to talk to you about the importance of school attendance.

As you know, attending school regularly is critical for your child's academic success. When students miss school, they miss out on valuable instruction and interaction with teachers and peers. These absences can add up quickly and have a significant impact on your child's learning and development.

Research shows that students who attend school regularly have higher academic achievement, are more likely to graduate from high school, and are better prepared for college and career. In addition, regular attendance helps your child develop important social skills, such as collaboration and communication, which are essential for success in all aspects of life.

We understand that there may be times when your child needs to miss school due to illness or other unavoidable circumstances. However, it's essential to prioritise regular attendance whenever possible. By working together, we can ensure that your child has the best possible chance of success in school and beyond.

If your child is struggling with attendance, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. We are here to support you and your child in any way we can.

If your child will be absent from school, it is important that you let us know  by contacting the school office and the classroom teacher.

Please know that if a student has five or more unexplained absences in a term, we are required to formally follow this up with written communication.

Thank you for your ongoing partnership in your child's education.
