The Early Years

Term One in the Early Years is an essential time for students to learn all about themselves, the new Learning Space environment and very importantly… the relationships they can build with their peers. At Salvado Catholic College, our teachers embed the Making Jesus Real (MJR) philosophy, as well as, use the guiding principles from URSTRONG to ensure that all students are learning skills that better equip them to communicate effectively, while showing care for one another.

Through classroom discussion and activities, students have been learning about Jesus and how He was a role model for all of us. Our students are discovering different ways of how we connect with others and show love to others, which helps promote positive relationships within the school community.

The students have had a great time exploring how they can become friendship ninja’s, whilst also learning that ‘friendship is our jam’. These examples can be seen in the photographs below. I would like to take this opportunity to remind all parents/carers to discuss the importance of friendship with their children and the important qualities that good friends have.

A simple reminder of the importance of respect between friends can be found in the Gospels:

"Do to others as you would have them do to you." —Luke 6:31
