From the Principal's Desk

Dear Parents and Carers

On Thursday 16 March we held the official opening of Stages 3, 3A and 3B which included the Secondary Science, Design & Technology, Learning Spaces and Kaadadjiny Hub. It was wonderful to have Foundation Principal, Mr Santino Giancono in attendance for the opening. I would like to thank Fr Mark for officiating the Blessing and Dedication of the facilities, we appreciate and thank him for being a part of our celebration and our College community.

Dr Sayce, Executive Director of Catholic Education WA, officially opened the facilities. We are all very thankful to Catholic Education WA for having the foresight to build a new College here in Byford. Back in 2016, the College’s foundation year, there were 105 students and 12 staff. Today we have over 700 students from Pre-K to Year 9 and over 80 staff and growing to include Year 10 in 2024.

The support of many at Catholic Education Western Australia has been appreciated as we have journeyed to where the College is today including Mrs Suzie Richards, our Capital Development Consultant who has been a part of the planning of Salvado Catholic College, she has seen the College through to a completed Pre-K to Year 9 College.

Thank you to the current and past Catholic School Advisory Council members for your support, time and efforts in making Salvado Catholic College a reality. Your time and commitment have been much appreciated.

I would like to acknowledge the work of Paterson Group Architects, in particular Mr Chris Donovan and Mr Greg Paterson. Thank you to McCorkell Constructions, Gerard McKenna (Project Manager), Rob Lyons and Andrew Saville (Site Managers) and to BE Projects, Troy King (Managing Director), Jason Watson (Supervisor), Anthony Grose and Jason Bird (Site Managers) for their efforts in completing the Stages 3, 3A and 3B construction of Salvado Catholic College.  I know our students and staff love the facilities.

Thank you to our parents and carers for choosing Salvado Catholic College and bringing your children to a special place that we continue to build through community and partnership.

Thank you to the wonderful staff and the commitment that everyone has made to the College and the students in our care, they are a fantastic team who should be very proud of all that has been achieved so far and what we continue to aspire to achieve in the future for Salvado Catholic College. I am very blessed to have joined the Salvado team this year, and your dedication and hard work in Catholic Education is a credit to you all.

To our students, we look forward to continuing to build, not just buildings, but a strong sense of community here and ensure that there is Peace, Justice and Compassion in all that we do and say as we work, play and pray together.

Inaugural ACC Swimming Carnival - Year 7 to Year 9

On Monday 13 March a team of 27 students accompanied by Mr Loh and Ms Schultz travelled to Challenge Stadium in Claremont to compete in the ACC J Division Swimming Carnival. The students had a good day competing in their events, gaining a lot from the experience. Congratulations to all the students who represented the College and thank you to Mr Loh and Ms Schultz for the extra time they put in training the squad.
