Ministerial visit

Claire O’Neil, Minister of Federal  Minister for Home affairs and Cybersafety recently attended our college to Launch the M.E.R.L.E Program here at HPSC. M.E.R.L.E stands for Mentor, Empower, Reflect, Learn and Earn and supports young people to gain life skills to reach their potential. The program helps to create an environment where young people experience positive involvement at home, school, with friends and in the community. Thanks to Kelly- Anne Fisher for representing School Council.

Uniform

An important Uniform reminder- As mentioned, a number of times over the year, from the start of 2023, the old HPSC spray jacket will no long be able to be worn. Over the past two years, we have been slowly phasing in the new soft shell HPSC log jacket and from 2023 all students  Year 7-11 are required to wear the new jacket. Our Year 12 students will of course, have the Graduate jackets, which is a long- standing tradition.

Attendance

Throughout the year we have been encouraging high levels of attendance from all our students. We know that students who perform well and show high levels of learning growth attend school often. Throughout the year we have been having redemptions of time for students who have fallen behind in their expected attendance levels.  Recently, we have expanded this to include Year 10 students, as they need to become familiar with the expectations of senior school.

Course Counselling

Thank you to the families who attended the various Course Counselling days. We are entering the final stages of completing this work, which is an important part of our planning for next year.

Thank you to all families for your on-going support as transform our school from good to great.
