Co-curricular

Performing Arts Showcase

Last Thursday evening, after a two-year hiatus, the College held its annual Performing Arts Showcase and it was a great success. (Curiously, the event has always been called this – even though it has really only ever been a showcase for the Co-curricular Band and Orchestra program ensembles!). Nearly 200 boys took part on the night, performing a range of music from James Bond movies and the latest Disney movie Encanto to more classical repertoire including Mendelssohn and Haydn. The night saw performances from brass, string and woodwind ensembles, our Senior saxophone ensemble, choirs, bands, and our College orchestra. The College Drumline even set the place aglow with blue light-up LED sticks! All the boys did marvelously as they negotiated not just the repertoire, but the complex task of getting on and off stage – all with the help of the dedicated group of boys that assisted with the stage-changes. It was a great team effort and I look forward to next year’s event. Thank you to all who took part, came to watch, or assisted in any way.
