Year 9 Camp
We are drawing closer to the cut-off date to sign up for this year's Kinglake Year 9 camp, 24 to 26 August. Consent and payment must be completed on Compass by Friday 5 August. Camp is more important this year than ever as students have missed so many opportunities over the past few years to develop positive relationships with their peers and College staff, improve their resilience and problem-solving skills and create positive memories that will last many years. Parents and carers of Year 9 students should have received an email from me outlining the details of the camp with attachments including medical form, detailed camp information, frequently asked questions list and equipment list. If you have not received camp information or have any questions regarding the camp, please contact the College and speak to myself or James Cowan-Clark.
Careers Week
The Middle Sub School has a big focus currently on careers and pathways with the Year 10 Careers Week running this week and the Year 9 Future Me incursions and excursions run in collaboration with Deakin University. Year 10 students have been participating in a range of workshops that help shape their decisions for Years 11, 12 and beyond. These will include information about senior pathways (VCE, VCE VM, VET, SBAT), choosing subjects, industry workshops, university visits, guest speakers and much more. The Year 9 students have engaged in workshops at school facilitated by Deakin students covering career pathways and study options. They have also visited the Waurn Ponds Deakin campus and had a firsthand taste of what university life is like. A big thank you must be given to the careers team for organising and facilitating these programs.
Parent/Teacher Conferences
Parent/Teacher Conferences are occurring on Tuesday 9 August from 11:30 am to 7:00 pm. This is a student free day and a great opportunity for you to meet with your students' teachers and discuss their successes and opportunities for improvement in each of their classes. Please get onto Compass and sign up for meeting times when they open next week.

The start of Term 3 can be hard due to the cold weather, but the Middle Sub School has begun very positively. Congratulations to the students listed below who have achieved more than one positive Compass entry so far this term. Keep up the great work!
