Australian Brain Bee Challenge 2022

The Australian Brain Bee Challenge is a division of an international competition. For a Queenslander to be the Australian representative, the student has to make it through the Regional Challenge to win a spot in the State Final. Only the winner of the State Final progresses to the National Final, and that winner becomes the nation’s representative at the International Final.

Harrison Dyer 10D and Remy Versace 10E represented our College at the State Final on Tuesday 19th July. The boys were two of forty-nine students who spent a full day at the Queensland Brain Institute, participating in tours of the research labs and conversations with research scientists. They completed the first elimination round of questions, from which the top eight students were selected. Harrison Dyer was one of those who qualified for that next level. Though he didn’t make the final three, he did very well to finish in the top eight of students in the state. Congratulations to both Remy and Harrison for their achievement, and for the exemplary way in which they represented Marist College Ashgrove throughout the competition.
