NEWCASTLE PERMANENT MATHEMATICS COMPETITION
On Wednesday, students from Years 5 and 6 represented St Edward’s in the 2022 Newcastle Permanent Mathematics Competition. This annual competition gives students from across regional NSW the opportunity to test their numeracy skills by solving a range of complex mathematical problems. With over 22,000 students from more than 350 schools competing, the competition will certainly be fierce, but we would like to congratulate all students for their efforts today and we look forward to sharing their results later this term. Below are a selection of photos from the students who entered the competition:
INFORMATIVE INFOGRAPHICS - Year 6
To begin their informative writing for this term, Year 6 have been researching mythical beasts and creatures. To display their information, they were tasked with creating engaging infographic posters that informed the reader on the topic of their creature. The teachers were very impressed with the quality of the infographic posters, a selection of which can be seen below:
100 DAYS OF SCHOOL - Kindergarten
On Wednesday our Kindergarten students reached a significant milestone in their educational journey – their first 100 days of school! To celebrate reaching such an important milestone, Miss Parker, Mrs Messenger, Mrs Ashton and Miss Simmons organised a fantastic day of craft and maths activities all based on the number 100. Kindergarten students were even asked to dress like they're 100 years old!
