English Competitions

The English competitions are a chance for students to create unique, personal, and creative responses to the English curriculum and texts. In Semester 1, we met to celebrate the incredible work of all our finalists and award the following students.

Every year The English Faculty has the esteemed honour to host the Year 11 English Daisy Searby Creative writing competition, named in honour of a former teacher passionate about student creativity and writing. 

 

This year’s winners and highly commended pieces are:

The winners and finalists were awarded during a morning tea late in term 2 and was judged by former English and Literature teacher, Ms Maureen Cooper. Grace’s winning piece will be published in the school’s annual magazine, Essence, later in the year.
