Term 3 in the library is off to a running start!
We started the term with displays and book recommendations to celebrate NAIDOC week, Library and Information Week, Disability Pride Month and are now looking forward to Wear it Purple Day and our upcoming Book Week festivities! (29th August – 2nd September). Featuring events and activities including guest speakers, interactive displays, the much-loved Costume Day (come dressed as your favourite book character) and a second-hand book sale to raise funds for the Indigenous Literacy Foundation.
The Year 7 Reading Challenge is in full swing and is due to finish up at the beginning of Term 4. So far our Year 7s have collectively read a total of 2,185 books this year! A truly amazing effort.
The upcoming Library Book Tasting, made possible thanks to bookseller The Little Bookroom, will also provide us an incredible opportunity to showcase a variety of newly published books and hear from our students about which ones they would like the library to purchase for our collections.
We continue to host many student clubs and activities in the library’s Reading Room at recess and lunchtime each day, and are so enjoying hearing all about the various projects and discussions taking place in these wonderful student groups!
