Australian Music Vault Excursion

At the end of Term 2, as part of their unit work on the History of Rock Music, students in year 8 music classes went on an excursion to the Australian Music Vault at the Arts Centre Melbourne. 

The Australian Music Vault is an exhibition of Australian Music history and includes items and information on famous Australian musicians. Students were given a tour of the vault and completed some activities that culminated in them writing and performing a rap. 

As part of the excursion, students also participated in one of three different workshops. These were: Hip Hop lyric writing; Household Techno; and Composition. The students produced and performed some fantastic music.

Senior Music Mini-Concert Series

After the last two years of very few performance opportunities, the Year 10 Music and VCE Music class showcased their talents to their friends and teachers at three lunchtime mini-concerts in the final week of Term 2. Students performed a combination of solo and group works in a range of different styles.
