News from the Library

Gothic readings continue

More fabulously fun gothic “movies” were made this week by Year 8s in the Library, and The Addams Family production crew added to the gothic vibe. Be on the lookout for some creepy gothic poetry produced by students that will be displayed in the Library in the next coming weeks.

Book Week

The CBCA Book Week is almost here (August 17-23) and the theme is “Reading is my secret power”. Thanks in part to a generous parent donation, there will be many new books available that week. There will also be a competition happening that will rely on students’ powers of deduction. More information to follow.

Artist of the Month

The Library has always loved being able to display student artwork in the Library. Have you seen the “inspired by Vincent Van Gogh” artwork of 7E that is currently on display in the Library?

We want to take things further by showcasing the creative works of individual students so we have decided to start featuring an “Artist of the Month”. If you have created a piece that you are proud of and want to share (can be anonymously) let us, or your Art and Design teacher, know and we may display it.

Quiet Study Area

From week 6 we will trial using the Discussion room as a quiet, study only area during lunchtimes.
