Book Week Celebrations

It was a wonderful week to celebrate everything books and super powers and heroes!

The school had a great time dressing up as their favourite superheroes and as always Special Friend's Day was a lot of fun. Thank you to Michelle and Marcus for cooking the BBQ and we look forward to book week again next year.

If anyone is able to contact books for us could you please let us know we have many boxes of new books that need to be contacted before they get put on the shelves.

Father's Day

These weekend is Father's Day and we hope that you have a lovely time spending it with whoever is a significant person in your life.

Parent Opinion Survey

A few weeks ago, families were asked to participate in the 2019 Parent Opinion Survey. We wish to thank in advance parents who completed the survey. Our school community members continue to work really hard together; staff, students and parent groups alike, for better outcomes, resources and opportunities for all students and families at Upper Gully PS. These feedback opportunities are important ways in which we can continue to improve.

The survey results are used to:

  • monitor levels of student engagement and wellbeing
  • compare school level data on engagement with state-wide benchmarks
  • stimulate discussion within the school community about how to improve parent engagement
  • assist in the identification of areas for improvement and professional development needs in the school.

Staff and parents will look at and discuss the results of our survey and we look at how we can make decisions in the future that will continue to improve on the great work that is already happening.

Building Works

In the last week of term buuilding works will commence on the new foundation sensory outdoor play area. The school received a grant of Inclusion Funding from the government to the value of $200 000. The funding will be used to build an outdoor deck from the Foundation classroom. This is a great thing for our school.

Have a great week everyone.
