Soccer Report

In a weekend where the 1sts had a bye, the rest of the teams marched on. 

The U13’s played their derby game as the Blues and Whites played for pride. The first 20 minutes were cagey with shots at both ends but Blue went to halftime 2-0 up. While the Ladies of U13 White played with power and passion and scored in the 2nd half they went down 4-1.  This means that U13 Blue are 2nd in the Minor Premiership this year and are through to the finals.

The U14’s played arch nemesis, the Waratahs and lost 4-2. It was a topsy turvy game with Kinross Wolaroi having many more attempts on goal, but the Waratah’s keeper was their player of the match. 

The U16’s had another emphatic win 9-1 and look to be in good form going into their finals series as the favourite. 

The 2nds had their last game of the year and with the help of Mr Watkins played some of their best passing football of the season. The step up from junior Soccer to senior is hard but the ability to slow down play and move the opposition around is key. The passing was superb and the result did not highlight the team's development.

Hockey

We are now drawing to the close of the hockey season and have had some fantastic results.

On Monday night, 16 Sky and 18 Lightning played in their semi-finals, with both teams putting up a great fight against some very tough competition. Well done to both teams on their improvement throughout the season.

A special mention goes to our Year 12 players in Lightning, who finished their season with a solid game against CYMS. Many of these players have been involved in hockey since Year 7 and have made a valuable contribution to the hockey program over the years. Reaching the semi-finals is a wonderful reflection of their dedication and enjoyment of hockey. Well done, and thank you for everything you have contributed.

Our U14 teams have also had a strong season, with KWS White finishing second. This means they will play their semi-final this Friday. Best of luck to the team!

The Kinross Wolaroi 1sts have secured fourth place in the 1st Grade Women’s Competition after 14 solid rounds. The team has really come together at the right time and will be a strong contender in the finals series. They play at 11:20am on Sunday for a place in the final. The team would love to see plenty of supporters at the game cheering them on in this important match.

Congratulations to all our hockey players on their efforts, improvement and commitment throughout the season, and best wishes to those teams still in contention.

Rowing

Rowing is well and truly underway, and it has been a terrific start to the season.

We have welcomed a brand-new squad, with many fresh faces joining the program alongside the return of several familiar rowers. With excellent conditions on the water and a positive, enthusiastic approach to training, there is a great sense of excitement about the season ahead.

For our Senior Rowers, the focus over the past fortnight has been on settling back into the structure, routines, and expectations of the sport. We would also like to take this opportunity to wish all Year 11 students the very best as they prepare for their upcoming Preliminary Examinations.

As a rowing community, we also extend our best wishes to all winter sporting teams as they embark on their final’s campaigns. Represent the school crest with pride, determination, and sportsmanship.

2026 Orange Basketball Awards

Congratulations to Phoebe and Aston who both received a major award for Athlete of the Year for their involvement in Basketball NSW events during the 2026 season and additionally being great ambassadors to Orange Basketball.
