A Symphony of Stories

Book Week was celebrated in style across the Junior School on Tuesday, with students and staff embracing the joy of reading through a vibrant costume parade. Expertly coordinated by Mrs Pengilly, Mrs Oechsle and Mrs Fifield, the event brought our community together in the Derek Pigot Auditorium to showcase the 2026 Children’s Book Week theme, ‘Symphony of Stories’. 

Students proudly displayed their creative costumes, inspired by much-loved literary characters, while celebrating the power of stories to inspire imagination, connection and learning. It was a wonderful occasion that highlighted our students’ enthusiasm for reading and the important role literature plays in enriching young lives.

Appreciating Teachers' Aides

This week, we proudly celebrate Australian Teacher Aide Appreciation Week and extend our heartfelt thanks to our outstanding Learning Enhancement Aides. Through their compassion, expertise and unwavering commitment, they make a profound difference to the lives of our students every day. Whether providing individual support, fostering confidence, encouraging independence or helping students achieve their personal best, their impact is both significant and lasting. We are deeply grateful for everything they do to enrich the learning journey of our students and strengthen our school community.

Father's Day Reminder

As we approach the end of Week 7, we look forward to welcoming our Fathers and Significant Others on Friday, 4 September for a special morning of connection and celebration. The event will commence at 8:00am with a light breakfast in the Glasshouse and Round Garden, followed by classroom visits.

This occasion provides a wonderful opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the love, guidance, encouragement and strength that fathers and significant others bring to the lives of our students. We look forward to sharing this special time together and recognising the important role they play in supporting our children’s growth, wellbeing and success.

Students Making Their Mark 

Congratulations to Nate B on his outstanding achievements at the Orange Eisteddfod. Competing in the Woodwind Junior Events on clarinet for the very first time, Nate performed exceptionally well, earning a Highly Commended in the Under 10s Own Solo, 1st Place in the Under 10s Jazz/Pop Solo, and 1st Place in the Under 12s Scholarship Solo Event. For his scholarship performance, which required two contrasting pieces, Nate was awarded a $500 music tuition scholarship and a trophy. These are wonderful accomplishments, and we are incredibly proud of his dedication, courage, and success. Well done, Nate! 

We are delighted to celebrate the recent success of Lucy W, who has spent the past two weekends competing with her pony, CP Prince Charming, at the Sydney International Equestrian Centre.

This was a particularly exciting experience for Lucy, as CP Prince Charming is still young and had very little experience competing at this level. Despite this, Lucy demonstrated wonderful maturity, patience and confidence throughout the competition. She handled the challenges of competing on a big stage exceptionally well and showed great care in preparing and campaigning her pony.

Lucy’s hard work and determination were rewarded with an outstanding three placings across her various showjumping events. She achieved an impressive 1st place, 3rd place and 5th place, which is a fantastic result, particularly given her pony’s limited experience.

We are incredibly proud of Lucy and the way she represented our school. Her achievement is a wonderful example of the rewards that come from dedication, perseverance and a positive attitude. Congratulations, Lucy, on this fantastic accomplishment!
